DOWNLOAD.COM says it’s been downloaded by more than four million people, and they say that “although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. EYEOS says it’s “a new kind of Operating System, where everything resides on a web browser. With eyeOS, you will have your desktop, applications and files always with you, from your home, your college, your office or your neightboor's house. Just open a web browser, connect to your eyeOS System and access your personal desktop and all your stuff just like you left it last time.” I did a check on it, and found some enlightening comments on the OPEN SOURCE CMS forum. Overall, the reports were favorable, though it may NOT be as new and unique as it claims. It is also listed on DOWNLOAD.COM and favorably reviewed there. It’s had about 60,000 downloads. PORTABLE APPS says, “Now you can carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more with you. Use them on any Windows computer. All without leaving any personal data behind.” SYMBALOO AS YOUR HOME PAGE? SYMBALOO.COM is working on a start page the whole world can use. It’s set up so that you can easily make additions and changes that put your favorite items at your fingertips. The SYMBALOO site for the U.S. comes up automatically when you search for Symbaloo, but click at the bottom on “Symbaloo International” to see their progress in making it available to other countries.
