Freeze A Keylogger With A Firewall
To get an accurate and scary overview of the situation, read Andrew Brandt’s “Security Watch” column for PC World: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,126083-page,3/article.html Brandt says that, to be safe from keyloggers, you should: 1. Cycle passwords, and don't use the same name and password at multiple sites. 2. Use a firewall that can keep keyloggers from “phoning home” to the criminals who installed them. The free Comodo and ZoneAlarm firewalls can do this; the built-in Windows XP and Windows Vista firewalls can’t. If you get top-rated SPYWARE DOCTOR antispyware, you’ll find that its manufacturer, PC TOOLS, has a free firewall that works well with it: http://www.pctools.com/firewall/ To see a selection of free firewalls, go to DOWNLOAD.COM and put “free firewall” into the search box. |
